Descriptions of God

Good morning, everyone! Today I am beginning a new series, titled Descriptions of God. When I went to camp in January, during chapel we discussed different adjectives for God. I decided they would make a great blog series to share with you all. Enjoy!

(All Scripture is taken from the English Standard Version)

God is. . .

Creator ~ “For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.” Colossians 1:16

Everlasting ~ “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

Peaceful ~ “For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.” 1 Corinthians 14:33

Merciful ~ “Nevertheless, in your great mercies you did not make an end of them or forsake them, for you are a gracious and merciful God.” Nehemiah 9:31

Holy ~ But Joshua said to the people, “You are not able to serve the Lord, for he is a holy God. He is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions or your sins.” Joshua 24:19

Gracious ~ “He has caused his wondrous works to be remembered; the LORD is gracious and merciful.” Psalm 111:4

Have a fabulous day!
