Hello, and welcome to my blog! I’m delighted to have you here and hope you enjoy what you find here. I’m AnnaKate, a young writer who dreams of one day publishing books. Until then, I divide my time between working on my many WIPs and writing articles for this blog.
Who am I?
I am a homeschooled high schooler who loves God, her family, and serving others. I have three brothers and two sisters who are so fun to hang out with. My seven nieces and nephews help make life interesting! I live on a farm with my parents and younger sister, working outside in the summer, and working inside in the winter.
A few of my favorite things:
- The colors blue, yellow, and pink
- Reading my favorite books over and over
- Writing (and receiving!) letters from my pen pals
- Serving in my church
- Playing piano and singing
- Being outside when the weather is beautiful
- Anything active: running, skiing, going on walks
- Listening to music while I’m working
- Disney movies!
- Spending time with my friends and listening to their stories
Why do I write?
I write for God’s glory, the Author and Storyteller of everything. With every story I imagine, every character I create, I want to point others to Him.
When I was seven, I wrote my first ever story about four kids who had a “helping club.” There was very little conflict, and most of what they did was sit around their clubhouse talking.
The story itself wasn’t good at all, but it made me realize how much I love to write. It’s what got me started with writing. From then on, I was always coming up with new ideas for stories and cool characters to use. Creating characters, fulfilling dreams, and seeing it all turn out in the end is something that brings me joy.
That is why I write. To begin to touch the world with my words, make a difference, and most importantly, glorify God with everything I write. Because that’s my goal: to write for the glory of God.
I write stories about teens, for teens. I get my inspiration from my own life, experience I’ve had, and things I see around me. The journey isn’t always easy, but I’m not giving up.

Blue, green, and the colors of the sunset sounds like such an aesthetic!
I’ve heard a lot about The Young Writer’s Workshop, and my sister was a part of it for some time. What would you say is/was the most useful for you there?
I’m looking forward to seeing more from your blog! 🙂 ❤

For sure! What are your favorite colors?
Really? Is it okay if I ask what her name is? Definitely the library of resources and lessons! I’ve learned so much just by reading three or four a week. I also love the community and support I’ve found.
Thank you! ❤
